In fact, the study showed that the activated regions were the same ones responsible for the thrills of food, sex, money, and drug addiction. (No word yet from researchers if there’s a link between verbally bloated d-bags and drug problems).
So now you know to keep your itemized charity contributions to yourself. But apparently, there is a way to do it right. Sharing tidbits about yourself is a necessary human trait based in evolution: “If a social creature did not disclose information, then other creatures might stop interacting with it,” said brain researcher Paul Zak.

This study also explains why getting your date to talk about herself is an instant win for you.
