Online dating? I totally don’t have a problem with the concept, it’s just not for me.”

Does that line of thinking sound familiar? It’s funny, despite the multitude of statistics available these days showing that more and more people are meeting their significant others online, there are still a lot of stubborn hold-outs who insist that online dating just isn’t right for them.

Maybe it’s because, deep down, some people still fear the stigma of online dating, feel like resorting to filling out a profile and putting themselves out there is some sort of admission that they can’t get dates on their own. But online dating is less about last resorts and more about casting more lines in the water. It doesn’t have to be the only way you find dates — but if you’re dissatisfied with your dating life, might as well try a different approach, a new way to meet more people.

Trust me, I get it. I get that online dating is fine for your friends, but the thought of signing up yourself makes you sort of sigh/cringe and think “No, not me. Not yet.”

But before you make a final, absolute decision, read through this list and see if maybe you should rethink your stance.
