You’re More Likely to Get Dumped if Your Partner Adds a Bunch of Facebook Friends While You’re Dating

If you want to know how committed your partner is to your relationship, you should check out the number of new Facebook friends they’ve added in the time you’ve been together, according to a recent study in the journal Computers and Human Behavior.

In a study of 148 college undergraduates, researchers from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne found participants in relationships who were less committed to their partners were more likely to send and accept Facebook friend requests from other potential romantic interests they could see themselves dating while they were still in the relationship.

The study suggests if your partner is adding a bunch of new Facebook friends, they’re less likely to be committed to your relationship, and you will probably break up, which is logical enough. But may I suggest the more likely reason you would break up in this scenario is because you are spending all your time trying to figure out which of your SO’s new Facebook friends he/she secretly wants to bang instead of spending quality human time with them like a normal person?
