SummerDance can either be legitimately impressive and fun, or awkwardly silly and fun, and rarely anything in between. Held throughout Chicago parks on multiple nights, SummerDance is a one hour dance lesson for the public, followed by live music and, (you guessed it), dancing.
Grab a date, a flask, and (most importantly, maybe) an open mind, and head to the park. Yes, there will probably be old people. Yes, they will probably be better dancers than you. Yes, you might feel awkward at first.
But once the sun sets, and the music starts, and the dancing really starts, you’ll begin to understand why all those romantic songs from the first part of the last century were about “Twisting the night away” and “dancing cheek to cheek.”
