For the Last Time, Everybody, Stop Washing Your Jeans

Blue Laundry

If you’re washing your jeans, you’re doing it wrong. Also, global warming is your fault. At Fortune’s Brainstorm Green conference yesterday, Levi’s CEO Chip Bergh reminds us all that not only do you not need to wash your denim, you shouldn’t wash your denim. His own pants? Those things are a year old and have “yet to see a washing machine,” he says. Forget laundry day — according to Bergh, all you need is a little Tide and a toothbrush. Also, probably, enough coordination to not spill whole cups of coffee down the front of your pants. I’m working on it. For everyone else, here are some pointers. Levi’s would approve.
