Valentine’s Day is the one day of the year that all women unanimously either admire or abhor, and that goes for those both in and out of relationships. However, no matter which side of the fence you fall on this year, truth be told, we all have Valentine’s plans.

Whether you’re going out with your significant other, girlfriends or just taking the time to love yourself, finding the perfect outfit for the special night is pretty high up on the to-do list this week. To help calm your nerves and put a strike through a bullet in your busy schedule, we’ve gathered two bright looks that will impress and charm.

When choosing your outfit…

Remember Some Texture:

For starters, begin your night out with eye catching hues that are sure to put you in a feel-good mood. Studies have shown that bright shades of red (and hot pink is one!) conjure up subconscious feelings of happiness. Pairing the color with a textured fabric like lace or chiffon hits on all the Spring 2013 trends.

Use Color To Your Advantage:

With such a bold color, keep the rest of the look simple and clean. Using either a color blocked dress or skinny jeans to give the illusion of color blocking, a toned down neutral will let the eye be drawn to the bright hue and accentuate that area – AKA if you want to show off your legs, go for the dress and if you want so show off your girls or arms, go for the lace tank.

Don’t Forget The Shoes:

Heels are a no-brainer for Valentine’s Day, but even these should be kept neutral to keep the focus on you and the conversation at hand. Pair other accessories like statement necklaces with your overall look to frame your neck and add personality.

Overall, keeping your Valentine’s date outfit flirty and fun will allow your true self to shine through and ensure that you and whoever you spend the evening with will have a night to remember.
