Natalie and Mike met on Match, and knew they were in love after only a month into dating (um, hello soulmate). This was how long it took for Natalie to discover she had kidney failure, however. BUT WAIT, Mike was her perfect kidney match. No joke. (Um, hello soul/body/everything mate!)

Read their love story below, and be warned that there are teary times ahead.

“I went on Match because I wasn’t having much luck finding love in my town of Santa Barbara and I wanted to explore options outside of my small area. I admit I was skeptical at first. But then I met Mike and from our very first date he was amazing. He was a gentleman who was career-driven and who was actually more interested in what I was saying than how I looked.

But about a month after we started dating, I ended up in the hospital with kidney failure. The doctors told me I would need a kidney transplant and I needed to start dialysis immediately. I was in the hospital for a whole month, and guess what? Mike was by my side the whole time. He held my hand, slept in the chair next to my hospital bed, and even drove two hours in Cali traffic to pick up my parents from the airport (who he had never met). Four months later he proposed to me while I was in a backless hospital gown toting an IV cart. I said yes to the amazing man who had shown me unconditional love when he could have easily ran in the opposite direction.

The next few months were rough. I was in and out of the hospital with infections and complications, but Mike was right there! He even suggested we move near my family in Michigan so that we could have a little more support. He bought us a house and I started the transplant process at Mercy Health. Then Mike did something amazing. He decided to get tested to see if he could donate a kidney to me. What do you know. He was a perfect match!!! I literally found my perfect match! This amazing man is giving me the best gift in the world. Our surgery is March 21st and then we are getting married in California June 26, 2016. If it wasn’t for Match, I would have never met the love of my life and I wouldn’t have gotten this amazing gift of life.So thank you! I think people need to hear our story and know that there is unconditional love on Match and we are proof.”

Cue, sobbing. I feel ya.
