Spinlister, the Social Bike App That Could (and Should) Be Used for Datingby Matt Patches on September 23, 2013
A person’s decision to be a “bike rider” is one of those telling life choices. There’s a range of possibilities as to why someone may own a bike — for the exercise, for the environmental impact, for the rush of speed, or for the simple enjoyment of a low-tech ride — but when someone saddles up on their two-wheeler, it’s a reflection of their personality. Running down a list of desired qualities in a significant other may reveal that a person is, in fact, looking for a bike rider.
And finding one just became a bit easier. Online marketplace Spinlister is essentially AirBnb for bicycle renting: An owner puts their cycle on display and anyone jonesing for an afternoon ride can take it off their hands for a few bucks. The site emphasizes people as well as the hardware. Anyone looking for a bike (broken down by zip code) is also graced with profiles of their owners.
Spinlister doesn’t label itself as a dating tool, but connectivity is part of its agenda. If that means you and your bike renter hit it off, well, that’s an added bonus. Just remember to wear a helmet.
Spinlister is currently available in 40 countries. Give it a whirl at the official site.
