Money can’t buy you love, except when it can, in which case, congratulations. With the help of friends and family, an IT programmer in Hangzhou, Zhejiang folded his entire life savings — $33,000 — into 999 paper roses as a proposal gift for his girlfriend. She said yes, because, come on.

Although we can’t help but point out that he could’ve used that money to buy actual roses, made out of plant cells, this is quite the gesture. Here’s to the happy couple, who are no doubt spending the first few blissful days of their engagement delicately unfolding their nest egg at the bank.
