Tinder has upped its age limit! The hook-up-centric dating app has raised the bar from 13years-old to 18-years-old, a big change that is sure to get the dating world talking. As of next week, only 18year-old’s will be able to launch a profile on the popular app.
Tinder released the following official statement addressing the change:
“On a platform that has facilitated over 11 billion connections, we have the responsibility of constantly assessing our different user experiences. Consistent with this responsibility, we have decided to discontinue service for under 18 users. We believe this is the best policy moving forward. This change will take effect next week.”
Who knows why this change was orchestrated? As previously Tinder users from 13 to 17 were matched only with their age range. In any likelihood this was too difficult to enforce and was starting to cross a blurry line. Adults-only, makes sense given the (ahem) nature of Tinder!
