Wedding photographers Helena and Laurent earn a living by photographing the most happy days of people’s lives. But this photo-shoot had an entirely different purpose – to document the burial of their best friend, Lunga the dog.
The couple describe Lunga as a party-animal because she loves staying outside late at night playing with others in their neighborhood. Where does that personality come from? Lunga was part of a clown act in a traveling circus during her younger years. On top of all of that, Lunga was in New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina hit and she swam out.
Ensuring this amazing dog got the exit she deserved, the two buried her in a beautiful bed of fresh red, pink, and white flowers. This weekend, they’ll plant a Weeping Cherry tree, where she’ll lay surrounded by bunnies, chickens, an due rest dog-friend Quila on a family owned farm.
