The exceptional nature to dating in your 20s is that you’re living on your own for the first time, not feeling the societal push to settle down quite yet, and most everyone you know is single. Life is your dating buffet and there are a few types everyone seems to sample. They all have upsides and downsides, not unlike the complex characters of Game of Thrones. Here are the five types of guys you date in your 20s as told by Game of Thrones. And if you really dated Joffrey, our heart goes out to you, girl.

The Talented Guy – Jaime Lannister

This type of guy is made of bravado. His evident talent and carefree nature are fun to be around and you can’t get enough. Eventually you’ll knock down his guard and discover he is only as secure as his biggest talent. The downside is his type often pulls away from deeper relationships. Or, you know, is fucking his sister.

The Man Child – Joffrey Baratheon

Let’s be honest, you probably found this guy at a club where you couldn’t quite hear the conversation. He was pretty, you took him home and accidentally started dating him. All too soon you realize why your friends keep asking, “Really, him?” He has never washed a dish in his life and his mother thinks the sun shines out of his ass. It’s easy to mistake his arrogance for confidence but really it’s his lack of awareness for others and responsibility. The upside? I thought I covered that – he’s pretty.

The Older Man – Jorah Mormont

Age ain’t nothin’ but a number. He’s great with giving advice not to mention financially stable and sexually adventurous. His fridge is always stocked and that’s a huge bonus in your book because you only have condiments. The relationship doesn’t last but you’ll think fondly of him — that is, until you get closer to his age and realize there’s a reason people his own age weren’t interested. He never treated you for the queen that you really are.

The Never-been-in-A-relationship guy – Jon Snow

He’s relatively new to dating and completely unaware of his attractiveness. It’s not that he’s younger, he’s just doesn’t have much experience. His genuine nature gives you hope for the future. It’s the relationship you get into when everything else seems complicated. He’s your pupil and you’re the teacher. The relationship is either a starting point to a long term option or a hiatus from the dating world, but either way he’s a keeper and probably remains your friend. And he won’t mind that you almost forcibly deflowered him.

Someone Else’s Boyfriend – Robb Stark

When it came to cheating, you’d always sat on your high horse and judged everyone who did it. Until you fall for another lady’s guy. It wouldn’t happen without that intense chemistry between you. It’s secretive, hopeful, and absolutely complicated. This isn’t your proudest moment, but love makes you rationalize in ways you never assumed you would. If you marry this person, a literal bloodbath will follow.
