The first same-sex couple has been crowned prom queens in Florida! (Cue, applause). Two teen girls, Brie Grimes, 17, and Lindsey Creel, 18, have made local history with their crowning at their high school in Tallahassee.
Grimes paid tribute to her LGBTQ supportive school, which formed a gay-straight alliance club in 2001. “LGBTQ community at our school is very accepting,” she told The Daily Mail. “’I do believe it is easier for females than it is males; at our school and just in society in general. I always felt accepted at our high school. My family was not accepting nor supporting at first, but after about a year they came around.”
We think this is absolutely awesome. Congratulations lovebirds!
