Valentine’s Day was not so romantic for Vanessa Hudgens and her boyfriend Austin Butler this year. Back in mid-February, the two stars ventured out on a down-to-earth, back-to-nature adventure (cause that’s just the kind of celebrities they are) in Coconino National Forest in Sedona, Arizona, where they proceeded to carve their names into a rock.
It all sounds very cute – and was artfully documented on Instagram by Hudgens herself, something that ironically landed her in hot water with the feds. Hudgens and Butler will face legal action over her ‘defacement of a national park,’ Billboard has reported. Apparently Coconino’s rocks are special and red, protected by federal law. It turns out, damaging a natural feature on U.S. Forest Service land is a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail and a $5000 fine. Awks!
