Tinder is not just for mere mortals like you and I anymore. Apparently stars like Lindsay Lohan, Ashton Kutcher, and Josh Groban have gotten so into the hookup app that Tinder has plans to introduce a verification system — much like Twitter’s little blue checkmarks — that will let celebs authenticate their identities within the app without having to connect to their Facebook accounts.
Tinder is currently set up so no one can use the app without linking it to a Facebook account. But apparently that’s problematic for celebrities who use fake names on Facebook so people can’t find them. As a result, Tinder CEO Sean Rad says the app’s high-profile users sometimes “make few matches because people assume they are fake.” Poor, poor celebrities. Maybe a swipe-right will cheer them up?
